New Year Resolutions!

Year 2008 is gonna be here in less than 24 hours, so before it comes, I shall do a short recap of the major happenings in 2007 :)

In January 2007,

I completed my Final Year Report, after which I had my VIVA presentation which pretty much marks the end of my poly life..

I've gotten full set of animals for mahjong, completed with half colour.

I went for Rain's concert and the amount spent was totally worth it! (okay, even though I didn't fork out a single cent)

There was renovation works at Video Ezy KAP.

In February 2007,

I bumped into my Primary School teacher, gotten her number with hopes of having a 6E gathering with her, and then lost her contact number when I changed my phone to K800i (I accidentally deleted her new contact instead of old :()

I've gotten pongponghu for mahjong, nothing special you might say, but it's pongponghu without pong-ing tiles that people threw.. meaning, I gotten the same ones by myself!

Wei Ming 一炮三响. In English terms, it means he threw a tile which all other three players want.

I met the new addition to the cute brothers' family.

In March 2007,

I won my very first lottery.. (it's also my very first toto ticket)

I tasted my first donuts from Donut Factory.

Went for two job interviews, didn't get selected for one, but rejected the other.

In April 2007,

I realised I have the tendency to fall down in movie theatres.

I got attached :)

I also met my boyfriend's clever niece, Alanah.

In May 2007,

I took a photo of the chocolate penis my colleague bought for all of us from Philippines and it violated the rules of service from Photobucket.

I got attacked by mosquitoes.

In June 2007,

I went for my first overseas trip with my boyfriend.

My boyfriend turns 24 but he went for a company dinner, so I didn't prepare anything.

In July 2007,

I went for Jay Chou's Secret Tea Party at Dragonfly.

In August 2007,

Basically nothing much happened in this month.

In September 2007,

Nothing much happened in this month too.

In October 2007,

Nothing significiant happened in this month too.

In November 2007,

I've got a very serious case of chalazion.

Cooked pasta with my boyfriend.

Had a chalazion surgery and looked like an alien for a day.

In December 2007,

I went for the second overseas trip with my boyfriend and family to Taiwan!

I went to Jay Chou's restaurant as well.

My boyfriend made my birthday really special :)

Two Christmas, Three Birthdays

Had a Emo5 Christmas gathering on 22nd as mentioned a few entries before.

It was like last year; drawing lots and then present hunting, so we set a time to meet up at The Manhattan Fish Market at Clarke Quay.

The service there is just lousy. They don't allow half of us to go in unless everyone is here! Reason being they can't allow us to hog on the tables. Alright, so Christmas and weekend's at fault but then again we made a reservation beforehand!

Well, if they do allow reservations, they should allow us to sit in there till everyone arrives right.

Food was just alright only the singing birthday song part is acceptable because they sang very very loudly.

Oh yah, it was a birthday celebration for me as well.. and I love the "magic cards" done by Xeno, JJ and Wenna! Thanks guys :)





On Christmas eve, my company had a present exchange session as well! Basically it's the company's tradition for us to draw lots about a week before Christmas Eve so we can hunt for presents for the party we drew.

Had a mini birthday celebration for me and my boss as both our birthday falls on 28th. Now I finally understand why he was complaining every year he had logcake from the company as birthday cakes =/





Yesterday was my birthday!

A big THANKS those who wished me Happy Birthday and a big THANKS to Jiexiang for giving me a wonderful day!

I had to work and I received a bouquet of blue roses delivered to my office! So embarrassing as my colleagues went like "so sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeetttt..........." and wanted to take photos with the roses and me and the present they gave me..

The roses were sweet, and it's even sweeter when Jiexiang knows I likes blue roses even when Wenna don't believe and fake ask me a few days ago.. He always take notice of little things I don't even know..

But Jiexiang was also very honest by telling me that's the only surprise he had for me -_-; So I asked him to set a place for dinner without telling me where so that's a surprise too..

He brought me to Aji-Tei! I don't like Aji-sen (Aji-Tei is by Aji-Sen) but I love the tomato rice at Aji-Tei! VERY VERY NICE!!! The dessert was okay only though..

After which we proceed to the carpark where he present me a Bengawan Solo marble cake as birthday cake! That's what I wanted but sweet boyfriend asked for two big candles and one "Happy Birthday" acrylic for the cake.. but.. he forgot about matches/lighter.. LOL.

He gave me an Escada: Into the Blue perfume! It's such a "blue" day as Jiexiang also wore a blue polo tee.

Birthday "blues" : Bouquet of Blue roses, Blue perfume, and a Blue polo tee boyfriend.

It's love ♥



P.S. The bear in the photo with my bouquet of blue roses belongs to my colleague. Oh and if you noticed, the perfume's cover is very special as it's deliberately made it that way so it's only covered halfway! :)

Taiwan 2007 // Day 1 : 041207

Long awaited entry for my Taiwan trip photos! Basically I'll blog day by day so here goes Day 1! (Click on photos for a larger view!)



Upon arrival Taiwan and awaiting our luggage to be loaded up a van we booked to bring us to our hotel.







Our hotel! 4 star I think? Anyway, the hotel's name is 神旺大饭店, and it's 旺旺 theme! I reckon the boss of this hotel is the boss of 旺旺.



You should get what I mean now..

Apparently they misspelled my boyfriend's name..

Our first stop in Taipei was Danshui (淡水) !













This is for Wenna!



The birds' egg over at 淡水 is very nice! The sweet sauce with the pepper.. ahhhh~ Heaven!

Went to Shilin Night Street (士林夜市) after that!







Ate the original XXL chicken here! But I don't like the ribs....

And the 鲁肉饭 here is very nice and cheap! Just NT20 for a bowl (not very big bowl though) but is very very nice!

Nothing much to shop as this is winter time so just went around to look at the shops instead. Very much like Bugis street but much bigger here :)

Emo5 X'mas Gathering

Had a X'mas cum quite a surprise birthday celebration today at Central's The Manhattan Fish Market. Quite pissed off with the service and food was just okay.

Nicest part was present giving and birthday cutting though, my first birthday wish for the year.

I'm back!

Just here to blog for a little while, photos maybe this weekend else next week, probably in three months' time cos my boyfriend is always so slow in uploading photos -_-;

Anyway, I enjoyed my trip alot! Abit disappointed cos it's the "wrong" season and nothing much to shop cos well, the clothes are not very suitable for Singapore; thick jackets/coats, leather boots etc..

The thing is, it didn't rain at all!

Well this is where I was located during the trip:

What I heard was, when we were on board to get to Jin Men, it rained for days in Taipei, and when we're back, no rain! It only rained on 13th when we reached the airport.

All I can say is, HENG DAO LAO SAI AH :)

Leaving on a jet plane

I'm leaving in less then 24 hours!

SO ANTICIPATED!

My flight is at 8.35am, Terminal 2, flight no SQ872. (should be lah. Mr Boyfriend don't know but this is what I gotten from Changi Airport website)

Who want send me off?

LOL. It's okay lah. Mr Boyfriend will be there to send me off, and I'll be there to send him off too (only to find out we're sitting next to each other in the plane)

Going to 淡水 tomorrow! That's the place where Jay Chou filmed his 彩虹 MV, the one wherehe lip-sync with his vintage car.

Went for rebonding of fringe ONLY + haircut yesterday. Total damage : $68.50 (ARGH)

Went for whole face threading + mask just now. Total damage : $25.00 (very worth it! and my face is so smooooooooooth now..)

Total damage to look good = $93.50

I swear I'm not going back to where I went for fringe rebonding anymore. Such little hair for $55! They're lucky cos the hair stylist who used to cut my hair went overseas grrr.

Trishaw

I forgot how I came across this video but I'm so sad and angry about it!

It's about three British guys who sat on a trishaw Uncle Lee was pedaling for and they refused to pay!

Not only that, they even make fun of the uncle and Uncle Lee did not have any idea because he only understand simple language..

One of the three guys thought it was funny and posted it up in YouTube titling "Slowest Taxi in SE Asia"

SO ANGRY!!!!!!!!

These interview clips made me more sad and almost made me cry. Watch part 1 and part 2.

So inhumane. Uncle Lee was trying to make a living and you can see that he was actually struggling to pedal with THREE MEN on it. THREE MEN. If they're approximately 60kg each, that's 180kg exclusive of the trishaw's weight! It's so obvious he was panting while trying to withstand the weight of these guys.

The ride was supposed to cost $15, one person for $5 and they refuse to pay him the initial amount.

It's a trishaw powered by human, not some engine in normal vehicles. Perhaps we're all pampered by the luxury of vehicles whereby we can move around by just stepping on the pedal itself, so a trishaw was like a joke to them.

It's not easy earning money with a trishaw. It's from the olden days and now we all have vehicles that move alot faster than it that no one even sets their eye on wanting to ride a trishaw anymore, maybe a tourist.

Why do they have to do that?

The guy who posted the video wrote an apology letter (which I can't find the link to) but it's still quite unforgivable.

This incident has caused an uproar with netizens who wrote comments on demanding an apology..

If I ever see Uncle Lee, I'll ask him for a ride.

Thirty-two

I'm turning 20 soon, maybe it means nothing big but then it's my first birthday with two big candles instead of one big candle and many small candles.

Well, looking back I think I've changed alot, in terms of appearance and in terms of character. I've build a stronger character now (at least I think so lah..). From the shy and quiet girl I used to be, to the outgoing and sociable lady.

I remember I used to be very poor in Math when I was in Primary three. I did not fail my exams with marks that struggles to get to borderline, but rather, I failed with 30 odd marks upon 100. Did not do any better even after my mum employ a tutor for me. I don't remember if I ever get better at it, but I got posted to the last class of EM2.

Last class of EM2, the class that people sneers at because we're just one class away from EM3. Nonetheless, with a great teacher, I passed my PSLE with flying colours, entitling me to get to Express classes in Secondary School.

Oh, and that's when I got my very first menstruation too. I know this is probably ?! when I mention that but then it's always a milestone for every girls, for us to learn more about our own body, for us to become a woman (okay maybe not at that age HAHA).

I was still the quiet girl then. Until I saw the school band during orientation and very determined to get into it. That's where I strengthen my character. Although I may look back and think "why the hell did I get punished by those people when they aren't even my parents nor my teachers?!" but well, without all those, I wouldn't learn that in life, whatever gets me to anywhere comes from my own hardwork.

Maybe I have mentioned this umpteen times but then I'm still very glad that I was rebellious back in Secondary two, if not my hardwork wouldn't have gotten me into a very good class. That's when I improve in my second language: English. I used to get a just pass for it but I gotten a grade that's as good as my other stronger subjects during 'O levels'! Not that I'm boosting but well, we all know how much English language is important to us.. it's the international language..

Everything past in just a blink of an eye and then it's time for me to move on to the next phase of life; college life, or rather poly life.

Perhaps I didn't give a good first impression to my peers in Poly but then I'm glad I'm not disliked all the way till my graduation year. At least I have a bunch of Poly mates I can call 'friends'.

In another blink of an eye, I'm now a working adult. Met a guy who's my first real boyfriend (well, those earlier on are just puppy love lah..) and then getting emo about turning 20 soon.

Gosh. How time flies.

I remembered those days I was looked after by a maid or a nanny, and I didn't say goodbye to my pacifier and milk bottle till I'm in primary 3 =X

I remembered those days I used to go to school and then spend the rest of my time in band after that.. The usual chicken rice/mee goreng/nasi goreng plus lemon tea/green tea on Saturdays..

I remembered my very first overseas trip by plane to Japan. That's my very first Christmas overseas and my very first experience in a country during Winter time although there wasn't snow.

I remembered my 8th birthday (I think). My family and I went to the Night Safari and I gotten a Mickey Mouse bag and wallet.

I remembered my 14th birthday because it was a very special day with my secondary school band mates (although I think no one remembers that anymore).

I remembered my 18th birthday and my very first clubbing experience with my poly mates, not forgetting the really memorable cake we had that night.

I don't remember the rest of my birthdays before I went poly simply because my birthday falls during the school holiday period, and the period nearing a new school year. To put it in simple terms, I never celebrate my birthday except those 3 really vivid ones I still can remember. It's never a tradition in my family to celebrate birthdays except for the first few birthdays. (I remember coming across a photo of me celebrating my 2nd birthday)

Well, I just hope that people who are dear to me will not forget my birthday no matter how busy they are. You don't have to celebrate it with me, just a simple birthday wish would just make my day because it means you remember..

Vandalism

Today I was waiting for the lift when I saw it stopped at Level 9 for quite some time.

Must be alot of people.. zzz

When it finally arrived at Level 5, it was empty!!!!

SO LUCKY!!!!

But when I stepped in, I understood why..

DAMN THE PERSON WHO VANDALISED THE LIFT..
WHY YOU TAKE OUT THE FIRST LEVEL BUTTON..
HOW TO GO DOWN LIKE THAT??

I hope that person will regret his/her actions once if he/she ever needs to rush down in a hurry.

It's not about branding, it's about quality.. cheaper brandless alternative may work the same, but might as well get something which is more reputable. It's like getting the brandless MP3 which looks exactly like an Apple IPod, but of cos don't function that well.

Most importantly, the feeling of wanting something of the particular brand/model you initially wanted, and getting that something you wanted but of a different model/brand, is totally different..

It's just like I know Z wants item A, I know it yet I got her item B, the expression I'll get from her face if I give her item B will definitely vary very much if I give her item A.

Maybe you'll think I'm just a brand freak.. but I'm not.

Chalazion Excision

I knew it.

After reading so many information online, I knew my condition is chalazion.

I went to the polyclinic today again, got the same doctor as last Wednesday and was referred to NUH immediately.

I totally had a shock of my life when I heard a girl who just came out of the Referral room saying "They say my eyes have to wait next year!"

I was hoping and praying 'please.. let it at least be within this week'..

Thank goodness my appointment is 2pm at NUH and I had approximately two hours to get ready.

My eye had already gotten less swollen and 50% less red as the photo in my previous entry but it's still obvious so I had to be referred since it has been around 12 days already.

While waiting for the nurse to call my name, I heard a lady asking the receptionist something and the receptionist replied something like "Sorry ma'am can I get back to you later cos I'm in the midst of something.."

Then the lady said "You're so rude! How can you treat me like that! I want to see the person in charge!'

Super fucked up lady, really. If you ever see me type vulgarities in full, I really mean it.

She kept saying "This is how you treat disabled people HUH?!"

She's on a wheelchair by the way.

And as if that wasn't worst, she even said "GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM. WHAT FOR COME HERE TO WORK AND TREAT DISABLED PEOPLE LIKE THAT. GO BACK TO CHINA LAH!!!!"

The receptionist kept apologising saying she didn't intend to give her that feeling.

Yet the lady went like "NO POINT SAYING SORRY. NOW YOU TREAT ME SO NICE, YET JUST NOW YOU WERE SO RUDE TO ME. GO BACK TO CHINA.."

The receptionist even came out of the counter, stood beside her and offer another apology yet she was greeted by a thunderous "STAY AWAY FROM ME!!!!!"

Then the Clinic Manager arrive, the receptionist explaining the situation to him away from the lady's view and then he went over, squat by the lady and hear her side of the story.

I remember clearly I heard a "It's either you get her out of here or I will do that personally! You can go and listen to her side of her story!"

Oh and she loves putting words in people's mouth. She was talking on the handphone to her kin I think, and she went like "SHE SAID 'DISABLED PEOPLE ARE RETARDED PEOPLE' YOU KNOW. SHE SHOUTED THAT TO ME"

WHAT THE FUCK? SHOUTED? Unless the receptionist's shout is like a mouse's scream else all of us would have heard her shouting that!!!

Okay enough about that. I'm not pin-pointing on all disabled people by the way (I think I should call them people with special needs), I'm just pin-pointing on that fucked up lady. I've had a secondary school classmate with special needs and he's one of the nicest people I've ever meet, but I just don't understand why that fucked up lady just have to be like that.

If you don't know what chalazion is, it's just a lump in the eye that would only go away after a few months. The doctor gave me two options, one is for surgery but then it can only remove 50% of it and two is for a cream to apply everyday religiously and then it'll heal in one or two months.. THAT'S SO LONG!

Just to console myself, at least my condition isn't as bad as this:



I had to wait for my mum to come and sign the consent form because I'm not of age 21 and above.. gosh, the sad case about not being 21.

So I went to the bookshop for window shop since I had to wait.



Does that remind you of your childhood? I remembered how I like to erase and then use the roller to clean the eraser dust xD



And I remember using that to erase ball point pen ink and sometimes result in softening of the paper and then hole in the paper. HAH.

Okay back to my eye. The surgery took about 5-10 minutes and it's painful when the doctor inject some anesthesia to my eyelid and the underside of my eyelid! But then totally no feeling when he slit.

At the end of it I look like an alien.



An exhibitionist who keep getting stares, and kids will just keep staring at you cos you look very different. Zzz.

Tomorrow can remove patch already but I don't know why doctor so niao! Only give me MC for today. I thought I must at least rest tomorrow to prevent infection =///

Oh and thank goodness for the referral from polyclinic, got 67 odd dollars waived off! xD

SIXTEEN days!

Will be flying to Taiwan in 16 days! So excited about it cos it's been five years since my first trip overseas by plane!

Now I'm thinking if I should bring a BIG luggage or a small luggage but Wendy just told me her brother and girlfriend went to Taiwan last year around December time too and the girlfriend bought lots of BAGS and SHOES rather than apparel cos it was winter time!

BAGS and SHOES!!!! I need lots of it!

Maybe I should bring the BIG luggage but I'm abit scared Jiexiang's family might think I'm kuazhang. But if I'm gonna buy tons of bags and shoes, I need more luggage space right!

Also, give suggestions to what Taiwan local food that's good and I can bring back for relatives and friends! Thank goodness I have a new colleague who has joined for about a month or less who used to study in Taiwan! I can seek her for lots of advice :)

Birthday, Pasta and a Piano Keyboard

Went to Kinokuniya with Xeno and Wenna two Saturdays ago to shop for Wei Ming's present.

I was looking for the book entitled "Everything Men Know about Women" cos Xeno is damn interested in the content; the content is nothing but blank pages by the way.

Ended up seeing the Post Secrets book and we sat down to read secrets! I saw this one that is really.. weird.. =/



Bumped into Yong Jia and Wenna agreed that he has beautiful eyelashes! Told ya it's not because I had a thing for him that's why I liked looking at his eyes :P

Stayed over at the boyfriend's house that night and we cooked pasta for lunch the next day!

I'm gonna go for work tomorrow anyway, rested long enough even though the damn eye stye didn't recover any bit and although I had MC for tomorrow.

Please pray that the head of the pus appear soon so I can squeeze it!!!! =(
