You probably don't understand..

It's not only about spending weekends alone..
It's about being somewhere that's not my home alone..

It's been almost 3 years, you should know the kind of activities I have,
Who I always hang out with.. What I usually do on weekends..
It's not I do not know how to find things to do on weekends,
it's because even if I stay at home during weekends, I will probably stay at home..

Waiting is not a big deal, but having to wait for 11 hours a day, 22 hours a weekend,
it accumulates to 1,144 hours a year, equivalent to almost 48 days, and that's more than 1.5 months.
And I haven't even count in Public Holidays.

I hope you can understand that it is not an easy decision to make.

If I already said okay, don't rub it in by telling others and make it worst when the others don't find it such a big deal..

Guys will never understand this. Try asking your female friends and see what they say.

The One about Health

Brother, I really miss you..
I hope you're doing good wherever you are..

To those who still reads my blog, a piece of a two cents advice here:

Take your time to at least visit your relative/friend who is sick in the hospital no matter how busy you are.. because lost time can never be found again..

Don't wait till someone has passed then you regret for not paying him/her a visit when they were still alive. Do not think that I'm not cursing anyone who's hospitalized to die, it's just a piece of thought I have right now..

When I heard a friend's friend's father who's been diagnosed with cancer, to be honest, I wasn't at all that sad. It's not because I do not know him personally, nor was it because I'm being this heartless freak, but really, think about it, at least he has been through the bigger parts of life.. marrying the one he love.. family planning with his wife.. watching his kids grow up.. Whereas somewhere in this world, there could be a young person, who's life has just started, battling with cancer..

To end off this random entry, I hope people who have been diagnosed with cancer stay strong and believe in the will to live. Live life to the fullest!

Resolution 2009 achieved!

Remember the resolution I made this year?

I DID IT! First attempt! I know I did not do very well (18 demerit points) but I did pass okay!

I almost hit a car in the circuit! Not that I'm proud of it, but I think I'm being blessed.. by my brother.. I did very well in circuit, only to realise I did not change to gear 1 upon moving out of BBDC! Well, I was waiting for my turn to move out of BBDC so I should change to gear 1 but I only realised it when I'm out of BBDC and wanted to gear up, oh gosh, stupid mistake, 4 demerit points for that.

I got a combo though, veer off course + fail to keep in lane during a bend = 10 demerit points! The rest is mostly fail to check mirror.....

My tester looked very strict and fierce but at least he wasn't how my instructor had warned me about; will not tell us when they want us to do parking in circuit, we have to know it immediately. But my instructor was right about if the tester didn't tell me to turn left or right, I should go straight. The tester did warn me that though.

Nowadays everything is getting more and more high-tech. During Jiexiang's time when he was taking driving lessons, basic/advanced theory test were all done using OTAS sheet with a 2B pencil! Now they have touch screen monitors and even 3D models as traffic police and 3D animation in our basic/advanced theory test!

Even for practical, it used to be just paper checklist and a pen/pencil to mark down the mistakes of the student, but now they actually have a touch screen monitor with a stylus to mark down mistakes! On the screen, it shows the route map and the tester will use his stylus to point the part of the route where mistakes were made and make a note of it! Every single mistake is taken into account. *sweat*

But nonetheless, I'm a Class 3 driving license holder now! HAPPY!!!

The One about Concert Band!

What are the odds of meeting a friend whom you haven't met in at least four years?
What are the odds of meeting that friend when you're together with another friend who knows that friend too?
What are the odds of not meeting that friend via random shopping in a random shopping mall but rather via McDelivery and that friend was the delivery man?

Bumped into Alfa while at Wendy's crib today! It was such a coincidence! He had became chubbier and still as funny and cheeky ever.. Still remember the old times in band..

Well Wendy lent me her 3rd Gen IPod Nano as she already had her IPod Touch, and she really has alot of band songs which I'm going through it now.. really miss the good old days!!!!!!!!!!!!

This entry is really random, just wanted to blog!

The One about the Room

I was doing a little cleaning of my room (actually just throwing rubbish that I don't need) and found alot of things I do not bear throwing like:

- Collar badges from Secondary School or even Young Scientists Badges
- Overseas souveirs from friends
- Old watches that are worn or spoilt
- Old pouches/pencil cases
- Old gadgets which are worn or spoilt
- Beauty care items which I have no use for or not using anymore
- Plush toys, the ones that are not my favorites etc etc..

What do you do to any of the above items? Do you just dispose them or keep them aside?

The only thing I've finally determined not to 'collect' anymore are movie ticket stubs, but other than that I do still keep concert ticket stubs, admission tickets (especially those overseas) and airplane tickets..

The One about Choices

If you've been catching up with me via Twitter or FaceBook, you'd probably have seen me having this as my status:

Life is filled with choices we can make, not choices we cannot make.

I do not wish to explain why I came up with that sentence cos it's a long story, so you can probably ponder over that sentence.

The One about the Comeback

I'm back!

I've stopped updating Photo Du Jour for good, mostly because I do not have exciting photos to blog everyday, but I do miss blogging so I'm back!

I love simple and clean websites hence the neat layout. (Don't think it's easy to create this template, I took almost an hour!)

Follow me @ Twitter too!

The One about Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

*Warning: Spoilers ahead!*

I’m utterly disappointed with Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince!

1) They completely cut out the Dursley’s family in the movie.

2) WHERE THE FUNERAL WHEN DUMBLEDORE DIED?!

3) They removed Kreacher, Black’s family house elf, and I’m just gonna wait and see how they’re gonna introduce him back in Deathly Hallows as Kreacher plays an important role.

3) They burnt down The Burrow! WTF? The Burrow should have equal protection as Hogwarts because Harry’s in there!

4) Harry did not remain at the lower level of the clock tower and do NOTHING when Dumbledore is being threatened by Draco! In the book he was under an invisibility cloak and Dumbledore Petrified him, hence he was unable to do anything!

5) It wasn’t Bellatrix who wanted Snape to make the Unbreakable Vow but it was Narcissa herself!

...

If I could go on, the list stretches to no end! Let’s just say this is the worst movie of the entire series.

I hope Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will not disappoint me!

The One about Photo Du Jour

I'll be updating this blog less frequently because I do not have the drive to blog. But I'll be uploading this other blog everyday without fail.

Photo Du Jour

Photo Du Jour means 'Photo of the Day' in French. Simply said, I'll be uploading a photo everyday on what memorable happened on that day.

Till I have the mood to blog :)

The One about the Dream Came True

This post came extremely late because the dream that came true happened on 1st January 2009.

I'm currently quite addicted to Mousehunt application in Facebook which I joined during my birthday and a few days later, there was a New Year competition thingy going on. It was about winning real cash prizes or winning Superbrie+ (a kind of cheese in the game that's only available via donation). On 31st December night, I dreamt I saw my name in the list of winners, just like this:

Click for larger view

and it came true! Woohoo!!

Although my friends/colleagues said I can't redeem it for cash (but it's only Canadian $10 lah) but I need it for the game in future! Now boyfriend have to struggle to find Superbrie+ but I've got 500 of it to use :P

Will upload with CNY photos soon :)

The One about Resolution(s) for 2009

Abit late, but better than never.

2008 passed in a blink of eye and I've did things I've never done before (like driving). Now it's time to welcome a whole new 2009 and it's gonna be a difficult year due to recession. Nonetheless, we should all cherish what we have (especially our jobs) and continue working hard for the year.

I've just one resolution for 2009; that is to obtain my driving license. (manual hor)

The reason to why I only have one thing in my list is simple, because the rest of the resolutions is hard to measure. Save more? How do we measure 'more'? Be more ____ to [insert person]? How do we measure how much more ____ have we been?

That's why I'm keeping my list to something that is more achievable.

I've updated about my 21st birthday BBQ (you can also scroll down) by the way, have not updated the celebration with my family. (internet at work is freak slow >.<)

Happy Lunar New Year in advance, people!

The One about the Dislike

I don't like people who simply talk and not put their words into action, worst if they push the responsibility to others.

The One about the Revamp

As you can see, trying to revamp my blog. After the revamp is done, I'll update with truckload full of photos :)

[Edit] Back-dated entries up as promised but please scroll down as I back-dated those entries too :) (for archiving purposes) [/Edit]

The One about my 21st

Took quite a great deal of time to come out with the comic book effect. Wanted to do it the retro way but the photos didn't turn out as fabulous as the tutorial, so I just added levels to the photos and created the so-called comic strip.

Not much text because I don't really know what to write but I kinda like the effect (and no, I'm not gonna do this for the rest of the 'future' blog entries.

My birthday went smoothly (I hope it's not too boring) and I love all the presents I've received, especially the golden Canon IXUS 870 IS given by EM05 :)

Thanks to those who turned up and to those who gave me birthday wishes (sorry to those I didn't invite to the BBQ because I do not want to make it too awkward with too many different cliques)

Probably the first and last birthday I'm gonna host. It's not easy at all as it's pretty hard to keep all entertained (maybe I should have thought of some games)

Thanks all once again!

The One about Christmas with Emo5

Right after my birthday celebration with my family, I rushed down to Downtown East to meet up with Emo5 for Christmas. This year was a little different, there aren't any Christmas present hunt :( but instead, we had booked a room at neBO cafe for Christmas gift exchange. I didn't know what to get (because I didn't have a specific someone I have to buy the gift for) so I got a practical Imation 4GB thumdrive.

When I reached the cafe, I was asked to play the marble game which consists of chopsticks and two tupperware, one filled with marbles. The task? To move the marbles from one tupperware to another with the aid of the chopsticks. The highest and lowest scorer would have to perform a dance but the highest scorer would receive a prize (a box full of sweets)

After the game (nope, I wasn't the highest nor the lowest scorer), I sat around chit-chatting and watched the other guys had their fun with Wii.

I remembered 'inspecting' the table of gifts (who isn't happy to see gifts on the table?!) and saw that Theresa had bought Capitaland voucher because the envelop give it away, then I muttered to Wenna "I saw that Theresa bought Capitaland voucher, not bad leh! I want!"

After food, we took group photos together but without the help of the cafe staff! Fai, Jian Qi and I had fun placing our digital cameras on stereos, tables etc. to get a good view of the group! The photos were nicely taken actually, different angles somemore!

Then the highly anticipated gift exchange came. Being the youngest, I was asked to pick a name first. *DANG DANG DANG DANG* I picked Theresa! Woohoo!!! Now I have $20 to spend for Chinese New Year shopping.

Kai Ling got my thumdrive, and *LOL* three people bought thumdrives, all of different brand: Toshiba, Sandisk, Imation.

For the rest of the photos, you can view my FaceBook photo album.

Oh, and if you're wondering where are the photos of opened gifts, there isn't any because we were being chased out of the cafe as it was their closing time! >.<

The One about Christmas with Colleagues

This year's Christmas is a little different for my company. The gift exchange idea remains the same but this time round we had buffet lunch! :)

Although the place was stuffy (air-con was off by the place to save electricity -_-), we had loads of fun because Baby Isaac was there too.

Baby Isaac!

The girls~

The guys~

I received an accessories box from Kimberly and I bought a Topman "I heart IT" T-shirt for Boon Wee! (Sadly he said that t-shirt will go to his home clothes department as he feels it's really stupid to wear it outside :()

We had birthday celebration for the late-December babies (Me, Carmen and Boon Wee). We got Carmen a dress and a thumdrive, Boon Wee a Stussy shirt and condoms, whereas I got a manicure art set (love it!) and a Brazilian Waxing voucher (that's to embarrass me).

This time round no Log cake as birthday cake! :P

The One about Tang Yuan

Made some tang yuan at Jiexiang's place for the occasion today (I forgot what's the occasion :X)

Noticed the long and not the usual round tang yuan? :P

Boyfriend actually made one flat tang yuan but it's not too noticeable lah. First time eating tang yuan simply dipped in sugar. Lovely taste :)

The One about the New Drawer

Went to IKEA with Jiexiang to get a new drawer for my bedroom as I feel I'm running out of space!

He hammered through the night, I hoped the neighbours downstairs will not complain (oh and it happens to be my brother's ex-colleague who lives downstairs)

Jiexiang doesn't like the wide angle effect. But I do not know whether the new camera possess normal angle effect. (which I highly doubt so)

Thanks boyfriend for helping me with my drawer!! :D

The One with the Virgin Photos

The day after I got my Canon IXUS 870 IS, I could only leave the battery charging overnight and used it the next morning. (Image-intensive post!)

Click on the images for larger view..

Those were some of the virgin shots. After which I went to take photo of the difference between Singapore and Taiwan version of Jay Chou's latest album: Capricorn.

Note: All photos were taken with Singapore version on the left and Taiwan version on the right.

Notice the difference in the colors? There's even a fold on the Taiwan's version for easier retrieval of the pokercards.

One states "Made in Singapore", the other "Made in Taiwan".

The one printed in Singapore feels like normal paper sticker, whereas the other feels more like ez-link card stickers: glossy.

My very first autographed Jay Chou's album!

Lovely 2009 Calendar available only in Taiwan. There was a 2008 calendar given last year too, and if that were printed in Singapore, it's very disappointing as the stand is very weak and it's just cardboard. This one had a stronger glossy board.

The Jack Spade poster with autograph too :D

Later in the evening, I went to meet Jiexiang at Sim Lim Square cos we're going to his relative's place. His cousin has got a very cute Maltese!!

Super cute right!!!

Sadly, Enya went home first so I could only capture shots of her the next morning.

HEHEHE.

"What is she trying to do?!"

"Can you stop with the photo-taking?!!"

This is Alanah..

And then she refused to pose properly for me to take a pretty shot of her..

Jiexiang's old Shih Tzu. She is blind in one eye.

HAHAHHAA, Jiexiang look so cute here.

Out to Chinatown with his parents. I like this candid shot!

Well I tried out the wide angle lens with this beautiful temple.

Super big tortoise at Jiexiang's!

More Enya photos! She's just finished with her baby food (oh the food smells awful to me)

So shiok in her walker!

Busy playing his PSP -_-;

That's all with the virgin photos. More photo entries to come!!

The One About the SD Card

'Santa Claus' delivered my Canon IXUS 870 IS to my office last Friday! My colleagues went like '很美~' throughout the whole time after I carefully take the camera body out of the box. However, I only managed to play it on Saturday.

I went for driving lessons and then look some photos of the carpark behind Bukit Gombak Station and my block when I reached home. Went to look for Jiexiang at Sim Lim Square to slap on a screen protector on the oh-so-big 3" Pure Color LCD. Got a SD card reader from his place but it doesn't work with Class 4 SD Card..

Oh what am I doing typing so many words when I could just upload photos and let the photos do the talk? Simply cos I had left my SD card in the Canon Selphy ES1. (Geez, I can be pretty suay with my mouth)

I played around with the photo printer and printed some brilliant shots of Jiexiang's nieces Enya and Alanah, and of cos photos of the both of us. When I first explored the printer, I found a 64MB CF Card still sitting loyally in the card slot, I went like "how come the previous person who used was so careless?" and then I rotated between using cable and SD Card slot.

And there it goes, I only realised I left my SD Card in the printer this morning when I happily brought my camera to work (to take photos with colleagues), happily haolian-ed to Catharine I brought it along, happily on the camera, and the holy words 'No Memory Card' slapped me in my face..

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hadn't even started uploading my photos to the PC and blog about it.

I hope I can meet Jiexiang today so he can bring me my SD Card..

P.S. I'm not advertising for Canon. It just happened that Jiexiang's dad previously bought a Selphy (oh and his brother-in-law has a Canon DSLR)
